Cyclist injured in Minsterley car crash

A cyclist in his 50s was taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Minsterley today.

An ambulance was called to Station Road at 8.15am after the collision between the bike and a Ford Fiesta on the A488.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "One ambulance responded to the accident which took place close the roundabout outside the Crown and Sceptre Pub on the A488 in Minsterley.

"The cyclist, a man aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital for a check up but his injuries are not thought to be serious."

The driver of the car was not injured.
