Two fires tackled by crews in Wellington

Fire crews from Wellington were called to two fires within the space of an hour today.

Just after 10am, there were reports of a washing machine which had caught fire at a home in New Row, Horsehay.

Crews from Wellington, Telford and an officer from Shrewsbury were sent to the house. They removed the appliance from the property and problem was resolved within half an hour.

Just 40 minutes later, they were then called to a small bush fire, which had been caused by burning of nearby wasps nest.

It was extinguished using one hose reel jet by 10.56am.
