Police in fresh witness appeal after Higher Heath motorbike crash
Police today issued a fresh witness appeal following a road collision in which a motorcyclist was seriously injured.
The 53-year-old motorcyclist was airlifted to the University Hospital North Staffordshire in Stoke after being in collision with a blue Ford Focus estate car just after 3pm on Friday on the A41 at Higher Heath near Whitchurch.
The man's condition was described as stable.
Police said he was riding a blue BMW K75 motorcycle on the A41 heading north towards Whitchurch behind a large white van which turned off the main road into Manor House Lane.
The Ford Focus had been at the give-way sign on Manor House Lane prior to turning right onto the A41 when the collision happened at the junction.
Police investigating the incident have appealed for witnesses to come forward, especially the driver of the large white van which turned into Manor House Lane.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said today: "The van driver was not directly involved in the collision and probably is not aware of what happened.
"However, they might be able to assist in helping establish the circumstances and we ask them to contact Whitchurch or Shrewsbury police stations."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact the stations on the non-emergency 101 number.
