Driver airlifted to hospital after Shropshire crash

A man was airlifted to hospital with suspected fractures to his pelvis and legs after being trapped in his car after a crash involving a lorry and another car in Shropshire.

All three vehicles had been driving along Olden Lane in Ruyton XI Towns when the accident happened.

The road was closed and fire crews from Baschurch, Shrewsbury and Wellington cut the man, who is believed to be in his 30s, from his car.

Police spokesman Chris Ammonds said: "The road was closed at Shotatton crossroads at the A483 to Ruyton XI Towns to allow emergency services to attend."

Police have urged witnesses to contact them on 101 quoting incident number 133S 101013
