Police detective suspended over sex claims is named
A police detective has been suspended from duty over claims she was caught having sex with a married constable while on duty.
Detective Inspector Diane Davies, 44, who was named as inspector of Welshpool in early 2009 and lives in the town, is understood to have been found having sex with Constable Tommy Swales.
According to reports, colleagues heard noises and were worried there might have been a break-in at the station she was in at the time. Dyfed-Powys Police today refused to confirm or deny the claims, but confirmed two officers from Powys have been suspended from duty while an investigation is carried out.
It has not been confirmed at what station the incident is said to have happened, but it is believed to be Brecon. It is alleged that DI Davies and Constable Swales were found having sex on a night shift.
Neither DI Davies or Constable Swales were available for comment today.
