Telford school shut by norovirus

An outbreak of the winter vomiting bug norovirus today closed a primary school in Telford.

Donnington Wood CE Junior School, In Winifred's Drive, Donnington, will remain closed until Thursday so that it can be deep cleaned after about seven pupils showed symptoms of the illness

Cam Morgan, from Public Health England, said the decision to close the school while the cleaning was done had been taken by headteacher Sandra Osman.

Norovirus causes sick feeling followed by severe vomiting and diarrhoea. Some patients might have a raised temperature.
