Two Shrewsbury Town fans charged over incidents at match

Two Shrewsbury Town fans have been charged by police following incidents at the match against Sheffield United this month.

The club said the charges followed incidents in the home stands of the ground , which were reported to the FA on November 2, the day of the match.

Police spokesman Richard Ewels said a 21-year-old man from Whitchurch has been charged with going on to the pitch and with possessing a firework at a sporting event. He he as been bailed to appear before Shrewsbury magistrates on November 21.

A second man, aged 24, from Wem, faces a charge of throwing a plastic drinks bottle towards the playing area. He has also been given bail with conditions to appear before Shrewsbury Magistrates Court on November 28.
