Hoodie gang try to break in to Telford hairdressers
Three men have been caught on CCTV attempting to break in to a Telford hairdressers in a late-night raid.
The men tried to get into Flares Hairdressers in High Street, Madeley, just before 11pm yesterday, but were unsuccessful.
Paul Boden, 39, whose wife Lyndy owns the salon, said: "They attempted to get in twice but the first time we heard a bang and thought it was our next-door neighbours shutting their patio doors.
"The second time we heard a bang it was really loud so I went straight onto the High Street."
As Mr Boden arrived, the men ran off. They had broken the handle on the front door of the property and the handle has had to be replaced.
Chris Ammonds, for West Mercia Police, said: "It was reported to us just before 10.50pm. Three men in hoodies appeared to be trying to kick the front window in. A member of the public heard banging.
"It doesn't appear that they were successful in their attempts to break in, if that was their intention."
Police said all three men appear to be in their mid to late 20s and quite tall. One was wearing a light-coloured hooded top with tracksuit bottoms and what appeared to be Puma trainers.
The second was wearing a padded jacket with a hood and loose-fitting bottoms. The third, who had his face exposed, was wearing white trainers and was slightly shorter than the others. He appeared to be in his 30s.
The three men ran off in the direction of the bridge over Parkway on the Silkin Way. Police are asking anyone with information about the men to call the non-emergency 101 phone number, quoting incident number 623S171113.
