Woman robbed of rings in Telford knife terror
A woman was forced to hand over her wedding and engagement rings at knifepoint in an attack in Telford that has left her "utterly devastated".
Police today issued an image of a man they are hunting for the daytime attack.
The 36-year-old victim was pushed to the floor and threatened with a knife during the robbery which happened near Wombridge Road in Oakengates.
West Mercia Police spokesman Chris Ammonds said: "The victim has been left completely traumatised and is utterly devastated to have had the two rings stolen.
"Although the victim remains in a state of shock she has been able to describe the offender and has helped us put together an e-fit of him."
The robbery happened last Wednesday at around 1.45pm, but details were only released this afternoon.
The woman was walking her dog through the wooded area that runs alongside the cemetery in Oakengates when a man approached her from behind.
The man pushed the victim to the floor and demanded her money and her phone while waving a small knife at her.
The woman said she had nothing to hand over but the man grabbed her left hand and demanded the two rings off one of her fingers.
The robber is described as being white, aged in his late teens, of slim to medium build and wearing grey tracksuit bottoms, a black zip up jacket and a dark grey baseball cap.
The wedding ring is a gold band with chamfered edges on either side, while the engagement ring has a large central diamond and eight smaller diamonds. surrounding it.
Mr Ammonds said: "We would ask people to look at the e-fit we have released today and get in touch with us if they believe they can put a name to this individual.
"If we can identify this offender there is the chance we can get the two rings back for the victim."
