Air ambulance called out to Shropshire horse-fall woman

A woman was airlifted to hospital with suspected neck and head injuries after falling from a horse in Shropshire.

The rider, believed to be in her 50s, fell in Sandford, near Whitchurch, at shortly after 10.30am on Sunday.

John Hawker spokesman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to Sandford at 10.39am to reports of a woman who had fallen off a horse.

"A rapid response vehicle and a the air ambulance attended.

"The woman, believed to be in her 50s, was treated at the scene before being airlifted to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital with suspected neck and head injuries."
