Drivers faced delays of more than an hour when the tree fell on Plealey Road, in Pontesbury, Shrewsbury, at around 4.55pm on Saturday.
Police officers were sent to the scene and contacted Shropshire Council's highways team to remove the tree.
The road was reopened at 6.10pm.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "We were called to Plealey Road after a gentleman informed us that a very large tree had collapsed onto the road.
"Nobody had been injured and we went along just to double check nobody was in any harm.
"We contacted the highways team and they got to work and managed to remove the tree."
