Thieves broke into Boots on Meole Brace Retail Park in Shrewsbury between 4.30pm on Sunday and 6.30am today.

They made off with a quantity of perfumes after stripping display cabinets.

Boots in Cheshire Street, Market Drayton was also broken into between 1.20am and 1.30am today.

Checks are still being made to establish what was stolen.

It is thought three people smashed a door window to get inside and then ran off down a side alley towards Queen Street.

They drove off in a dark coloured car, possibly a Vauxhall Insignia.

Detective Inspector Tom Harding said: "It's quite possible the two burglaries were carried out by the same people and we are appealing for witnesses who may have spotted suspicious activity overnight near the two targeted premises.

"The offenders are believed to have had a getaway vehicle nearby and again we are seeking witnesses who may have spotted a dark coloured car, possibly a Vauxhall Insignia, near either location which raised suspicions."

Information should be passed to Shropshire CID at Shrewsbury police station by calling 101 or contacting the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
