He was also very enthusiastic about music and had run discos since he was 13. In June last year he turned his hobby into a business and set up his own mobile disco, Fusion Mobile Discos and Karaoke, which was doing well.

Members of the Mobile Disco Network paid tribute to his enthuisiasm and set up a collection in his memory.

Robert Griffiths, from Mobile Disco Network, said: "A lively funny lad just starting out as a DJ, he was just 20 years old which makes his loss particularly sad for those he's left behind

"We are thinking of George's family and friends at this time, and with this in mind we have started a collection which will be passed to his family when closed."

The former Rhyn Park Secondary School pupil had also studied horticulture at Walford and North Shropshire College while he was at Rhyn Park.

Nigel Keates, principal of St Martins School, which was formerly Rhyn Park School, said his thoughts were with Mr Allsopp's family and friends. He said: "Staff and students were saddened to hear of George's death. He was a very likeable student who made a lasting impression on us all during his time here."

Mr Allsopp's funeral will be held on Monday at Shrewsbury Crematorium, with donations being collected for Midland Air Ambulance – a charity he had raised funds for in the past.
