Adnan Khan, Naseer Khan, Waqar Hussain and Sundeep Paul, all from Telford, admitted being involved in a plot to supply cocaine, heroin and cannabis. They were arrested as part of a West Mercia Police inquiry, codenamed Operation Sift, into the supply of drugs in Shropshire from September 2012 and September this year.

The men appeared at Birmingham Crown Court yesterday when Judge Melbourne Inman QC adjourned sentence until after the trials of a number of other defendants.

Adnan Khan, 21, of Manor Road, Hadley; Nasser Khan, 20, of Bush Close, Dothill; Hussain, 21, of Hurleybrook Way, Leegomery, and Paul, 20, of Hadrian Flats, Wellington, were all remanded in custody.

Mohammed Aqil, 23, of Manor Road, Arleston, denies being part of the conspiracy to supply cocaine and heroin. His case was adjourned for trial and he was remanded in custody. Three others, Amar Hussain, 22, of Eyton Road, Dawley; Robert Carter, 28, of Bleachfield, Hanwood, Shrewsbury, and Wassiem Hussain, 22, of Crescent Road, Hadley, admitted their role in the supply of drugs and await sentence. Jangheer Khan, 30, of Bush Close, Dothill; Brian Harrison, 36, of Park Lane, Woodside, and John Allen, 25, of Spout Way, Malinslee, all deny being involved in the cannabis conspiracy and their cases were adjourned for trial.

Adnan Khan, Jangheer Khan and Waqar Hussain all deny an allegation of threatening and intimidating witnesses in July this year. The case was adjourned for trial.

Judge Inman said that the trial of all the defendants who had pleaded not guilty was scheduled to start on March 10.

The court heard in a linked investigation Allen, Adnan Khan and Jangheer Khan, along with five other defendants, face allegations of conspiring to steal high-value cars and charges of money laundering.

Also in the dock were Peter Dutton, 33, of Marton Drive, Wellington; Farraqh Hadiat, 30, of Acocks Green, Birmingham; Mohammed Shakeel, 25, of Hall Green, Birmingham; Jennifer Ings, 24, of Highway View, Arleston, Wellington, and Philip Vernon, 30, of Aston Road, Shifnal.

Judge Inman adjourned the car conspiracy case until March 28 and said any trial would start on June 2. Dutton and Vernon were given conditional bail and the remaining defendants were remanded in custody.
