The crash, which happened on December 23 on the A458 near to Ford, was between a Vauxhall Zafira, Ford Focus and an Audi.

A post-mortem examination has been carried out and an inquest is due to be arranged by Mr John Ellery, coroner for Shropshire and Mid Wales.

The accident happened at just after 9.30pm on Monday about a mile to the west of Dinky's Dinah.

The woman, who was a rear seat passenger in a black Ford Focus, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Focus was travelling towards Welshpool when it was involved in a collision with a silver Vauxhall Zafira travelling in the opposite direction towards Shrewsbury.

The driver of the Vauxhall, a man in his thirties, was taken to the University Hospital North Staffordshire in Stoke with serious injuries.

A black Audi A3 heading towards Shrewsbury was also involved in the crash.

The drivers of the Ford and Audi suffered whiplash injuries, as did the front seat passenger in the Ford. Witnesses should contact police by calling 101.
