'Felfies' fad catches on with Shropshire farmers
[gallery] Farmers across Shropshire and around the world are continuing to join a social networking craze of taking pictures of themselves posing with their farm animals.
The photos, nicknamed felfies, have taken websites such as Twitter and Facebook by storm as farmers show their funny side by posing while at work.
One of the latest images to be posted is by 40-year-old dairy farmer Jim Franklin from Newport.
Mr Franklin said: "I've actually done a few but the one where one of our cows comes to look over my shoulder really seems to have captured people's imagination.
"She has got a really mischievous look on her face and it's her grin that really makes you smile."
On Facebook a dedicated page called felfies has so far has been "liked" by more than 21,600 people.
It features hundreds of pictures, including a calf sharing breakfast in the kitchen, a farmworker taking a rest on the backs of a feeding herd of cows and a woman in a Christmas hat holding a duck . . . and an axe. There is also a #felfie hashtag on Twitter, with contributions from farmers as far away as the Netherlands and Egypt as well as across the UK.
However it seems one young girl from Shrewsbury was way ahead of the trend.
Charlotte Morris, who is 12, posed with her sheep Twoee back in October.
The Mary Webb School pupil said: "I have a sheep and she is black and has got a white strip down her face.
"One day she was chewing the cud and she looked like she was smiling so I thought I would take a picture. She is a family sheep but I take care of her and because she was lying down I thought it would make a good photo. That was before everyone started doing it."
