Driver injured in three-car smash
A man had to be taken to hospital after a three-car collision on the main road between Welshpool and Newtown.
The crash happened on the A483 Newtown to Abermule Road at about 8.55pm on Monday and involved a green Mitsubishi Shogun 4x4 which was travelling towards Welshpool and a silver-coloured VW Passat.
A third vehicle was damaged by debris from the impact of the two vehicles.
Constable Louise Cook at Newtown Roads Policing Unit said: "Serious injuries were sustained by the driver of the Volkswagen and he was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital where he is still undergoing treatment for his injuries. We are appealing for witnesses with any information that can help with inquiries into the cause of the collision." Witnesses are asked to contact Constable Cook on 101.
