Police CCTV appeal after thieves target Telford shops
Police are renewing an appeal for information on a man they believe to be involved with three alcohol thefts in Telford – including two shoplifting incidents within 12 hours of each other.
CCTV footage released today appears to show the man taking part in thefts at convenience stores in the area.
Police are hoping that someone may recognise him from a distinctive tattoo of a name that can be seen on his left forearm.
Two men entered the One Stop Shop in Brunel Road in Malinslee and each grabbed two packs of Stella lager and left.
Early the following morning the two men returned and were recognised by a member of staff, who raised the alarm and told them to leave the shop as the police were on their way.
Police say one of the men then walked into the store and said to staff: "I want a pack of beer," before picking up two packs of beer and saying: "Don't stop me or I'll knock you out."
In a separate incident, a man walked into the Spar shop in Leegomery and picked up two crates of Strongbow cider and then walked back out of the store without paying for the items.
The first theft happened at 8.30pm on September 14 and the second at 6.20am the following day. The incident in Leegomery happened shortly after 8pm on August 25.
The man is described as being between 5ft 10in to 6ft 1in tall, in his early 20s, of stocky build, with short brown hair, some facial hair and wearing a grey hooded top and jogging bottoms.
The other man pictured in the CCTV footage is unidentifiable due to his hooded top. Anyone with any information about any of these crimes should contact West Mercia Police on the101 non-emergency number.
