An elderly man and a married couple were involved in the collision on the A458 Stourbridge to Bridgnorth Road outside Rushmere Filling Station, in Wootton.

All casualties were treated at the scene and the road, which was temporarily closed, was reopened just after 3.30pm.

The man was driving a Peugeot 206 while the couple were in a Skoda Octavia.

Firefighters were called and sent appliances from Bridgnorth and Kinver, and a rescue tender and pump from Wellington.

An ambulance crew, an advance paramedic and a rapid response vehicle was also called, and the police were in attendance.

Dave Bromley, who runs Rushmere Filling Station on the A458, said: "I didn't really see anything but it was just up from the corner on the straight.

"There haven't been many accidents along here recently but we had a spate over the summer."

Dave Jennings, watch manager at Bridgnorth, said: "There was a collision between two cars just outside Rushmere Filling Station.

"We made the vehicles safe while three people were treated at the scene but no one was trapped. The road was closed but has since reopened."

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, Steve Parry, said: "We were called the crash at 2.45pm and crews were still there at 4pm. It looks as though the injuries will be fairly minor."
