The authority agreed its council tax base figure for 2014/2015 at last night's meeting at Telford College of Arts and Technology in Wellington.

It is a formal process where the total number of properties in the area is calculated to determine how much council tax the authority can raise.

Telford & Wrekin Council has already indicated that it plans to freeze council tax for the next two financial years.

There are 70,516 properties in the valuation list for the Telford & Wrekin area compared with 69,916 at the same time last year.

There has been a decrease in the proportion of Band A, B and E properties and an increase in Band C and D properties, with the largest increase in Band C.
