Flooding around Welshpool has resulted in replacement bus services being put on in both directions between Shrewsbury and Newtown.

Delays are expected until around 5pm tonight, with journey times increasing by about 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, the A49 at Church Stretton was reported to be blocked between the B4371 Sandford Avenue and the B4370 as it was under more than a foot of flood water, and several sections of the A49 between Shrewsbury and Ludlow were suffering delays because of flooding.

And in Craven Arms a broken down tractor was adding to delays on the A49 after it suffered a collapsed wheel near the B4368 Clun Road.
