Retired Whitchurch detective's new thriller is out
A retired policeman from Whitchurch has published his latest book – a mystery thriller called "999 Policewomen Emergency".
It is part of Bill Williams' Detective Jack the Hat series and is published on Amazon Kindle. Mr Williams joined the Shropshire Constabulary on his 19th birthday and served across the county during his career, but spent the last 20 years of his tenure based at Whitchurch. After retirement he worked for several years as a private investigator.
Mr Williams has already published a number of books and in the plot of his latest several serving policewomen are abducted while on duty. With little progress in the investigation, Jack the Hat Richards, a detective of New Scotland Yard, is called from retirement to assist the investigating team.
Other books in the same series include Police Horse Winston and Policeman or Paedophile.
