Teenager followed home from school by man in Telford

A 14-year-old boy was followed by a man when he walked home from school in Telford.

The teenager sped up and crossed the road to get away from the man in Wellington.
But when he continued to follow him the boy ran home and called police.
The 14-year-old had got off a school bus at Telford College of Arts and Technology, in Haybridge Avenue, in Wellington.
He walked along the main road onto Bennetts Bank across the island continuing on the main Holyhead Road into Ketley.
Once he turned onto the main road from Haybridge Avenue, he noticed a man he had seen sitting on the wall by the bus stop when he had got off at about 3:05pm on Tuesday, January 28.
The man then walked behind him and after the boy crossed over the road at Bennetts Bank, the man did the same and continued to walk behind him.
This man caught up with the boy a couple of times, but the boy sped up to create distance.
When the man got level with the boy, the boy ran away.
Chris Ammonds, for West Mercia Police, said: "No conversation or anything untoward occurred.
"The man is described as white, about 5'8, age 50 to 60, wearing a brown beanie hat, army jacket in camouflage and dark trousers.
"We would like the public to be aware of this incident."
