Post office will remain in Welshpool
Welshpool residents have been reassured that their post office service will be maintained in the town.
Glyn Davies, MP for Montgomeryshire, said he has been in contact with senior managers at the Post Office who have reassured him that they are committed to maintaining services within Welshpool.
The town's post office is currently located in the One- Stop shop on Broad Street, but the shop is set to be sold to new owners.
Mr Davies said: "I am in regular contact with the Post Office's senior stakeholder manger for Wales, who reassures me that the Post Office is committed to maintaining a service in Welshpool, and will persist in working hard to ensure this.
"I will continue to keep in touch with the Post Office about this issue. It's vital that Post Office services are retained in Welshpool.
"It is also important that Welshpool Post Office remains located in an area which is convenient and easily accessible for everyone."
