Tom Povey, aka Intensi-T, has been signed with Universal Records and he will be in concert in Telford on Saturday.

Tom, 21, is based in London but still maintains strong links with Telford, where much of his family lives.

Intensi-T was introduced to music by his uncle and Shropshire drum teacher Dave O'Dart who runs Wrekin Music in St Georges.

His big break came a couple of years ago, when he was spotted by Girls Aloud star, Nicola Roberts, performing in an East London pub.

Intensi-T's music is made entirely vocally, with all his beats and basslines created using his mouth and vocal cords.

He uses Bobby McFerrin, famous for "Don't Worry, Be Happy", as a reference point when describing his style of music.

"I use a loop pedal to layer harmonies and singing over the top of the music," he said.

On Saturday he will be sharing a stage with singer songwriter Juliette Ashby and X Factor contestant Lucy Spraggan at Oakengates Theatre@ThePlace

He said: "I'm really looking forward to playing Oakengates I've got loads of Twitter followers coming to see me."
