Telford junior MP Ellis at the end of his term
He has visited the House of Commons, met with Members of Parliament and campaigned for better transport for young people.
Now after two years in the hot seat, Telford & Wrekin's UK Youth Parliament representative Ellis Snookes, 16, is preparing to step aside for a new UKYP member, to be elected on March 5.
The Burton Borough pupil will then concentrate on his GCSEs, with plans to continue on to A-Levels.
Ellis, from Tibberton, near Newport, said he had enjoyed his time as the area's figurehead for young people.
He said: "I went to the House of Commons and had a debate with other young people about the curriculum which led to changes in PSHE (personal, social, health and economic education). It's been lots of hard work and commitment – but well worth it."
Four fresh faces will stand for election. They are Yunh-Hsiu, Newport Girls' High School, Sasha Southall, Abraham Darby Academy, Rebecca Bruce, Abraham Darby Academy, and Josh Carpenter, Madeley Academy.
