Woman's attacker hunted by police
A woman was assaulted as she walked home at night in Leominster, police said today.
She was walking along Bargates and then Barons Cross Road at about 10pm on February 7 when she became aware of a man at the junction with Ropewalk Avenue, officers say.
As she crossed Barons Cross Road near the bollards, she says she was grabbed from behind and dragged onto the grass verge. The man is then said to have run off towards Leominster town centre.
The attacker is described as having an English accent, wearing a dark top with a hood over his head and wearing dark joggers or tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.
Constable Paul Whaley said: "We are very keen to hear from anyone who was walking or driving in that area of Leominster on Friday evening and witnessed the incident or saw the female and the man before or afterwards.
"We believe there were motorists in that area at the time it happened and we urge them to contact us."
Anyone with information about the attack, which happened between 9.45pm and 10.30pm, is asked to contact Constable Whaley at Leominster Police Station on 101 quoting incident number 407s 080214, or anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or at www.crimestop pers-uk.org
