Welshpool dog owners urged to attend Woofathon
Dog owners are being invited to enter their pet pooches into a woofathon this spring.
The event will be held in Welshpool to encourage responsible dog owning on May 31, starting at 10am from the Westwood pub in Salop Road.
Robert Robinson, clerk of Welshpool Town Council, said: "We have suffered a lot of problems in the town because of irresponsible dog owners recently but hopefully this will be embraced by all those responsible dog owners to come out and show support."
The day will take the form of a three-mile dog walk with four challenges along the route.
There will be coffee and tea available at the halfway point.
Entry is £5 per dog with a free goodie bag included.
Funds raised will go to help animals needing medical help.
