Superstar Belinda on trip to Telford

She's used to the life of an international celebrity but next month Croatian music superstar Belinda Bedekovic is coming to Telford.

Miss Bedekovic is to visit Wellington to attend the wedding of her Shropshire-born fiance's daughter.

Terence Garbett became engaged to Belinda Bedekovic after a whirlwind romance at the end of last year.

The 64-year-old met the 44-year-old keytarist – a mixture of an electric guitar and keyboard – at one of her concerts in Austria last February.

Now she is coming to his home town in order to see her soon-to-be stepdaughter Danielle Garbett celebrate her own wedding.

Miss Garbett, 27, will be marrying her fianceeEdward Davies at Christ Church in Wellington on March 30.

She said: "We're very excited that Belinda is coming."

Miss Bedekovic has been one of Croatia's top TV stars for more than 30 years and rose to world fame eight years ago when Sasha Baron Cohen insisted she wrote and played the music for his film Borat.

Mr Garbett and Miss Bedekovic are hoping to tie the knot in Telford in September 2015.
