Youngsters took part in a number of pirate-style activities at Powysland Museum in Welshpool including the chance to wear a pirate mask, try out a hook and a hat or work with puppets.

The Pirates at Powys Museums in Montgomeryshire event was held on Tuesday and was well attended with parents taking full advantage of the opportunity to find something different for their children to do during the half term break.

Another event to look out for at the museum takes place on March 12 when rugby legend Eddie Butler, the former Wales and Lions No 8, will host an evening or rugby.

The talk will coincide with the museum's ongoing exhibition, "Rugby – The National Sport of Wales."

Booking is essential on (01938) 554656 and must be done before March 10 to avoid missing out.
