Seven-year-old Gracie Hafford, of Church Aston near Newport, is out to raise cash for charity by visiting all of the 118 Royal Mail post boxes that were painted gold to celebrate the British champions at the London Olympics and Paralympics in 2012.

Weir was waiting for Gracie when she arrived in Wallington in Surrey on Sunday.

Gracie's mum Donna Hesbrook-Edwards said: "David told her that what she was doing was amazing."

Gracie is now organising an Easter raffle to boost her total, with the winner to be drawn at the Shakespeare Inn in Newport on Easter Monday.

Tickets are £1 from the Shakespeare, or by calling 07974 834063.
