Plan to build new Telford village on agenda

Plans for a new village on the outskirts of Telford will come under scrutiny at an extraordinary council meeting.

A new village with 470 homes, a primary school and sports facilities could be built on the site of the former Allscott Sugar Beet factory if planning permission is granted.

Wrockwardine Parish Council will hold an extraordinary meeting on March 18 in order to discuss the plans, which some campaigners fear would cause traffic chaos on the narrow roads in the area.

The council is also considering asking the Secretary of State to "call in" the application and therefore to take the decision out of the hands of Telford & Wrekin Council.

The meeting will be held on March 18 starting at 7.30pm.

It will scheduled to take place at Admaston House in Wellington Road, Admaston, Telford.
