Fire crews called to kitchen fire in Craven Arms

Firefighters were called into action after a toaster caught alight in South Shropshire.

The kitchen fire happened in Shrewsbury Road, Craven Arms, yesterday at about 5.50pm.

Fire crews from Craven Arms and Church Stretton attended and entered the property using two breathing apparatus.

A hose was used to put the flames out and then the house was ventilated.

Meanwhile, firefighters were also called to a chimney fire involving a wood burner.

The fire happened at a property in Baveney Wood, Cleobury Mortimer, yesterday at about 5.50pm.

Firefighters from Cleobury Mortimer Fire Station used chimney rods.
