Police investigation launched after body found in Market Drayton town centre
Police have launched an investigation after the body of a man was found in Market Drayton early today.
The 32-year-old man was found in Cheshire Street at around 3.45am. West Mercia Police were treating the death as unexplained.
Det Insp Tom Harding said: "The body was found at around 3.45am outside the HSBC Bank. At this stage it is being treated as an unexplained death.
"An investigation has been launched to establish the circumstances and inquiries will continue throughout the day.
"A post mortem is being arranged to establish the cause of death. Our inquiries include looking at CCTV footage from the town centre area to check on the man's movements."
He added: "We are appealing for any information which might assist the police investigation. Contact Shrewsbury CID on 101."
Shropshire coroner Mr John Ellery has been informed.
