Two elderly people in Ketley and Little Dawley received fraudulent phone calls.
Both spotted the fraud yesterday and called the police, who today warned residents to be on their guard.
The caller tells the victim their card details have been used fraudulently. They ask for details of the cards and arrange to collect them using a taxi or courier.
Anyone who thinks they have been a victim of a fraudulent phone call should contact police on 101.
