Holly Farnsworth, 20, of Craven Arms, appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday over the death of Mary Guilbert, of Poyner Close, Ludlow.
The 70-year-old died in hospital 10 days after being hit by a car in Livesey Road on April 13 last year.
Mrs Guilbert did not require an ambulance, but was admitted to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital several days later.
In her plea, Farnsworth conceded she had been driving carelessly but she pleaded not guilty to causing death by careless driving.
The case was adjourned for trial.
