Oswestry woodland body believed to be local man
A body found in woodland near Oswestry is believed to be that of a young local man.
Police discovered a body close to the River Morda between Morda and Trefonen at 1.15am yesterday. It is believed a search had been launched earlier.
Officers say no one else is believed to be involved in the death.
Tributes on Facebook name him as Chris Davies, who lived in the town.
One friend, David Kendrick, said: "RIP Chris Davies you were a great friend. I cant believe your gone. Awesome lad. God bless you mate."
Spokesman for West Mercia police, Mr Richard Ewels, said: "The body of a man was found in woodland near Morda.
"Police are investigating the circumstances and are preparing a report for the Shropshire Coroner, Mr John Ellery.
"At this stage no-one else is believed to be involved."
