Appeal for man to help police in Ellesmere laundrette cash theft probe

A picture has been released of a man police believe may be able to help their investigation into the theft of money from a town centre laundrette.

The man is thought to have been in the Washing Well Laundrette, in Victoria Street, Ellesmere, at the time of the incident on April 25.

PC Chris Duffner, the investigating officer, said: "We are appealing for this man to contact the police as we believe he was present in the laundrette on the morning of the theft and may have information which will help our inquiries.

"The theft occurred at around 9.10am on April 25 when the cash compartment on one of the laundry machines was broken into and about £100 stolen.

"The man in the CCTV pictures is white, aged about 18 to 25, wearing a black T-shirt and black work trousers."

PC Duffner said the man could contact Oswestry or Shrewsbury police stations either in person or by calling 101. He also asked anyone who could identify him to get in touch.
