Cat loses part of paw in horrific trap injury
A family's beloved pet cat has had half of its foot amputated after it got caught in a rat trap.

Fidgit the cat was left with horrifying injuries after its paw became trapped while out near the family's home in Broseley.
The 10-year-old pet was found by a friend of owners Sarah and Jason Childs with the trap still on its food in woodland close to the B4373 Bridgnorth Road.
Mrs Childs, 41, who lives in Riddings Close, said: "The cat had been missing for a couple of days.
"It was in the evening and my husband had gone to the local shop.
"A friend of ours came up to him and said she had seen a cat in the hedge and thought it had something caught on his foot.
"He had no idea it was our cat but said he would go with her and take a look.
"When he realised it was Figit he was horrified. We think the trap had been on her foot for around 12 to 24 hours because part of her foot had been totally taken off her.
"It was a hell of a thing trying to get it off her and she had to have half of her foot amputated."
Mrs Childs said it looked as if the trap had at one time been chained to something, but Fidgit had managed to pull herself free.
"What she was doing there I don't know because we live the other side of Broseley," said Mrs Childs.
"The vet told us if she'd had another toe off we would have had to put her down because she wouldn't have been able to cope. It also cost me £300 in vets bills."
Fidgit, who is now 10, has been a member of the Childs family since she was eight weeks old.
Mrs Childs said she has never seen anything like this before, and described the injuries that Fidgit endured as "horrible."
"It's not illegal," she said. "We think it is a rat trap but god knows where they are being used.
"Hopefully the person who is using them might see what damage it has caused. Whoever is using these horrible traps, may not be aware that it is also causing suffering to local pets.
"I put the picture of Fidgit on Facebook and it got over 100 comments.
"But it could be that the person does know and doesn't care."
Thankfully Fidgit is now making a full recovery from her ordeal and has suffered no ill-effects from her amputation.
