Onesie bag packing helps raise funds at Telford Asda

A gang of school friends togged up in onesies to give shoppers a hand with their packing – and raised more than £100 in just two hours.

Mia Edwards, 13, gathered gathered a group of her friends from Idsall School in Shifnal to raise money for the Red Cross at Telford's Asda supermarket in Donnington Wood.

Fundraising is nothing new to Mia, whose mother Jane Edwards is the manager of the Red Cross shop on Limes Walk in Oakengates.

Miss Edwards, 49, said: "She and her friends are always keen to get involved with anything they can. We've had raffles, tombolas, sponsored walks, and they've been singing outside the shop before."

Miss Edwards said: "Today with the economy as it is, and people choosing where they donate – to raise £110 in two hours, it was brilliant.

"A lot of people stopped to chat about it and what we do."
