5,000 miles clocked up during Ironbridge Gorge Walking Festival
Around 500 walkers have covered more than 5,000 miles during an annual walking festival around Ironbridge.
The ninth annual Ironbridge Gorge Walking Festival has just finished, with hundreds of keen ramblers from all over Shropshire taking part.
This year was also the first in which it hosted the 100 miles challenge, where walkers were tasked with covering over 100 miles across seven walks into different parts of the Gorge and surrounding area.
Six walkers completed the challenge and were presented with certificates on the closing day of the festival on Sunday.
Those who finished the challenge were Martin Turner, Ann Southall, Graham Burgess, Neil Cartman, Maura Quill and John Potter.
Next year's festival, which will run from May 1 to May 10. For more information email ironbridgewalking@btinternet.com
