Telford man, 31, killed himself while working in Iraq

A former Telford man killed himself while working as a security manager at an oil rig in Iraq, an inquest heard.

Lee Stephenson, 31, who was working at the North Rumaila rig site in Basra, died as a result of hanging in his room sometime on January 25 or 26, an inquest in Wellington heard.

Telford & Wrekin coroner John Ellery recorded a verdict of suicide after hearing that Mr Stephenson left a note which made his intentions clear.
