We're now boarding for Weston Park model air show
You have seen the real thing at Cosford – now brace yourself for an even bigger show, but in miniature.
More than 50 pilots will be flying their model planes above a 15th century stately home at Weston Park, near Shifnal, this weekend.
The 21st Weston Park Model Airshow is set to attract up to 6,000 visitors from all over the world during the three-day event.
The show will also offer trade stalls and fun for the whole family across a 1,000-acre site.
Co-organiser Peter Whitehead said: "We expect to see between 6,000 and 7,000 people over the three days and we're expecting up to 500 caravans. Flyers from America, Germany and Italy will be making their way to Weston and no other air show can come close to it."
Mr Whitehead said heavy downpours had flooded the park over the weekend but he was confident it would not affect the show.
He said: "The show must go on. There should be about 50 flyers, which includes the Red Duo, who fly Red Arrows-style planes in formation, with smoke and light shows."
Everything you see at the RAF Cosford Airshow you'll see here, only in miniature. We actually believe our show is better."
Model enthusiasts will be welcomed on site from Friday, with gates opening at 8am each day. Visit www.westonparkmodelairshow.co.uk
