Miss Shropshire misses out on national title
Beauty queen Renee Farquharson has missed out on taking the crown in a national competition.
Renee, who is Miss Shropshire, lost out on taking the Miss England title to Miss Cambridgeshire Carina Tyrell.
The 18-year-old from Wellington had been in Torquay since Saturday competing in various rounds to get through to the finals yesterday.
The Newport Girls High student also took two of her A-level exams at Torquay Girls Grammar School in between competing in the final.
Renee was competing against 60 other finalists from around the country and had already been placed in the top 14 of the Beach Beauty round.
Unfortunately, the county beauty didn't make it into the top 15 finalists.
Winner Carina Tyrrell, 24, is a student doctor who won four of the rounds during the night. This included the eco-round, beachwear and the charity round, Beauty with a Purpose.
Coming in second place was Miss Leicestershire, 22-year-old Holly Desai. Third place was given to Miss Lancashire, 23-year-old Mary-Kate McKay.
The winner of Miss England, will now go on to compete for the Miss World title at a ceremony in London this year.
