The winner of May's Star Witness reader's photograph of the month is Victoria Martin, a night care assistant and mother-of-three who has a parallel career as an innovative photographer.

Mrs Martin, 43, does most of her photography on an iPhone, as well as helping run a website dedicated to photography on mobile phones, called MobiTog.

"The artistic side of me loves the iPhone as the editing options are amazing," she said, "a simple picture can become a beautiful work of art." Her winning picture, which has brought her a £100 Star Witness prize, came about from her home surroundings in the village of Elton, near Ludlow.

Mrs Martin, who works at Ludlow Community Hospital, said: "I walk a lot, and I take my phone everywhere with me. The farm next door has 200-300 sheep, they are around us all the time and I'm very fond of them.

"Whenever you're out eating a sandwich and you make a rustle, they appear.

"I'm the sheep lady – they often just happen to pop up in my photographs."
