Four arrested in Shrewsbury dawn drug swoop
Four people were arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs following dawn raids on four homes in Shrewsbury.
Thirty officers burst into four homes in the town and found a "large quantity of unknown powder" in two of the addresses in Harlescott.
Three men - aged 17, 39 and 51 - and a 24-year-old woman were arrested by police following the raids, which took place on Wednesday morning.
They have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
Detective Inspector Tom Harding, of West Mercia Police, said: "The operation was part of ongoing campaign to tackle the illegal supply of drugs in Shrewsbury. Around 30 officers were involved.
"We would urge anyone with any information about drugs in the area to call us in confidence."
West Mercia Police spokeswoman Sarah-Jane Lynch added: "Warrants were obtained via Shrewsbury Magistrates Court for four addresses, where there was sufficient evidence to suspect illegal activity.
"A large quantity of an unknown white powder was seized from two of the addresses, leading to four arrests. Nothing was found at the two further addresses."
