England fans still in the World Cup spirit at Telford supermarket
England may have been knocked out of the World Cup, but football fanatics in Telford have still been flocking to a supermarket car park to show off their footwork and skills.
People took penalty pot shots during the third and final World Cup roadshow held outside Asda Donnington yesterday.
The Shropshire Star has teamed up with AFC Telford United to host a series of football roadshows during the World Cup in Brazil.
A number of football fans of all ages queued up to take part in a speed shot penalty competition in a bid to win AFC Telford or Odeon cinema tickets, as well as a host of other prizes.
Sam Williams, circulation representative supervisor for the Shropshire Star, said: "It was a great day and lots of people came down and showed off their skills.
"There were lots of prizes on offer, too. We recommend people come down to see us at Asda in Telford town centre next week when there is a chance to take part and win even more prizes."
AFC Telford's mascot Bobby Buck has also been on hand at the roadshows to meet the fans, and the Skrill North championship trophy won by AFC Telford United in April has also been on display.
Tonight will see England play their final game of the competition against Costa Rica.
Fellow group members Italy will take on Uruguay.
