Tributes paid to Mid Wales crash family
Tributes have been paid to four members of the same family who were killed in a crash in Mid Wales.
John Kehoe, 72, his wife Margaret Kehoe, 65, Martin Pugh, 47, who is the partner of the couple's daughter, and Mr Pugh's niece Alison Hind, 28, from Llanidloes, all died when the car they were in collided with a van and a tanker on the A44 near Aberystwyth.
Alison's 18-month-old daughter Holly Hind who was also travelling in the car is in a "stable but improving" condition in the University Hospital of Wales Cardiff.
A statement released by the family has been released by the police, paying tribute to four people who brought "joy and happiness" to all.
It said: "Mum and Dad were devoted to each other and their family. Their passing is a great loss to us all and our pain has been increased so much by having them both taken from us at the same time and in such tragic circumstances.
"Although we mourn their deaths we take comfort from the warmth and love of the family they left behind. We will forever carry them in our hearts and thoughts, and will always be able to smile when remembering the joy and happiness they gave to all those, whose lives they touched.
"Martin was a fun loving, caring and considerate person. He was a devoted family man and a dedicated partner to Lynn and dad to his two children Matthew and Nicole.
"For the last 11 years he has cared for his partner Lynn but previously worked at Laura Ashley's. He enjoyed fishing and spent most of his time caring for wider family members.
"Martin will be deeply missed by his large circle of family and friends.
"Alison was a lovely, kind and caring person. She was a great mother, partner, daughter and friend to all who knew her. Alison doted on her two children Ethan and Holly; she was dedicated to her family and friends, always putting other people before herself and an extremely hard worker.
"She will be missed by all her family and friends enormously, and will never be forgotten."
The crash, which happened last Tuesday (17), is being investigated by the police.
Holly's father, Steve Hughes, 36, who was not involved in the crash, has been at her hospital bedside as she receives specialist care.
It is thought Mr Pugh was a full-time carer for disabled Mr Kehoe who lived in a neighbouring street with wife Margaret.
Councillor Gareth Morgan, county and town councillor, for Llanidloes, said the town was left "devastated" by the deaths.
He said: "I knew of a couple of the family members and they seemed like such lovely people. The whole town is devastated."
