The event, held at Whitchurch Rugby Club on Saturday, saw teams walk, run or dance around the track for the whole period, making sure one team member was on track at a time.

And leading the way was brave three-year-old Erin Cross, who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in 2012.

As guest of honour, Erin led other cancer survivors around the track in a lap of honour to kick off the event.

Event organiser Ruth Hislock said: "She is an absolute star. We had a lap of honour for cancer survivors and Erin led them all round the track. She is just brilliant and it's lovely to have her here.

"There are just so many people here and we've had 270 registered to take part, as well as all those that have just come along for the day.

"We want to raise £30,000 and I think we're somewhere around £10,000, but we're hoping to get donations coming in."
