Thousand enjoy the carnival spirit in Bridgnorth
Thousands of people lined the streets to see view the spectacular floats during the second Bridgnorth Carnival.
Floats snaked from the livestock market in Tasley down to Severn Park, where there was an array of entertainment, including live music on the stage.
The carnival was brought back last year by a team of volunteers after the success of the town's celebrations for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
This year's event saw groups using their imaginations to create some truly stunning floats.
There were eight walking entries and five sets of show vehicles, while a number of businesses stepped forward to sponsor the event.
Bridgnorth Town Council clerk Anne Wilson praised all those who took part and ensured the day was a huge success.
She said: "Thousands of people lined the streets and there was a real community spirit. Lots of people stayed on for the music in the evening. It was an absolutely fantastic event."
Mary Spicer, 16, took her place at the head of the event after being chosen as the carnival queen during a lavish ceremony in the town hall.
She was joined by the princes and princesses, Sophie Kinnersley and Logan Pope, and Maham Tareen and Owen Francis.
Bridgnorth mayor Councillor Edward Marshall officially opened the carnival at 1pm at Severn Park on Saturday,
Ms Wilson said: "There was an fternoon of fun and interactive activities on Severn Park.
"Visitors watched and joined in the arena events including dancing, dog and ducks, birds of prey demonstration and a tug of war.
"Community groups and organisations held stalls and activities for all the family and commercial stalls joined them.
"The evening welcomed local groups and singers onto the stage to entertain visitors."
Attractions included the Quack Pack, tug-of-war, displays by Cheer Force 10 and Zumba group, and performances from the Bridgnorth Ukulele Band and the marching drummers.
There were also 10 catering and 41 community stalls, and Bridgnorth Running Club hosted sports day activities on the field,
